Zaheer Hussain cleared the colours to take the first frame against Bren Mattley but got himself into a spot of bother when put in a snooker by his opponent in the second frame. Woodville S & S C tightened their grip on the Division Two title with a thumping 7-1 win against promotion hopefuls Swad Cons D. Only Bob Birch offered any resistance for the Swad side as he drew with John Chambers as elsewhere there were wins from the consistent Wayne Brewin, Mark Satchwell and S Wood on debut. Woodville are very close to the point where promotion would be secure whilst this defeat leaves The Cons 11 points from a promotion position.
Tutbury C made the most of Swad Cons defeat by scoring a 6-2 win over Rolleston D to be the side in that 3rd spot. John Peto was man of the match as he rolled in a lovely 25 in his defeat of Aaron Doyle. Jeff Diddalls was also in good form as he beat Steve Atkin. The matches between Colin Bell and Neil Cheadle and then Paul Atterbury and John Ward were both halved.Tutbury are 6 points behind second placed Alrewas C whilst Rolleston look like finishing 9th.

Ian Protherore halved with Will Sherratt whilst Jim Jennings drew with Gary Green. This ended a run of seven straigt league wins for Alrewas but they still look good for the jump to Division One whilst The Cons will finish mid table.
Swad Cons C were undone by an Ashby Ivanhoe D team that were on fire last Thursday. Warner Collins, Keith bale and Jack Bale all had comfortable wins over John Griffin, Pete Fearn and Jon Petcher. Dan Petcher saved the home team’s blushes by grabbing a draw off of Brian Lowrie. This was Ivanhoe’s first win in the league since they beat the runaway leader Woodville C before Christmas whilst The Cons look to be in a battle with Belmont D for the wooden spoon.
