Burton Cons A needed a big win on the night and that is exactly what they got as they defeated Spot On C 8-0. Graham Stevens hit the ground running for the hosts as he made a 49 break to beat Conrad Thomas. On the other table, Matt Milnes was in commanding form as he won both frames against Tony Clements. Darren Coady then potted well to take both frames and finally, Owen jones made a 42 break as he beat Steve Gaunt.
Second placed Ivanhoe A won 7-1 away at Spot On A. Ant Moore won both frames against Ade Harper to get the ball rolling. Ian Rennocks also potted well to defeat Tom Elliott. Andy Marriott continued the onslaught as he beat Andy Spiers. Mark Stirling went one down against Mick Kirk but made a 40 in the second frame. Kirk came back at him with a 33 of his own. Stirling took it on the final black to close out the match.
Alrewas A drew at home with Spot On B. Karl Hancox and John Richardson drew with Loz Kennerson and Steve Lane respectively. Tom Smith won both with some good potting against Lee Cooke and finally, Steve Butterworth earned the draw for the visitors by winning both frames against Rob McMeecham.
Belmont A won 5-3 at home against Rolleston A. adam McNulty drew first blood as he won the first against Ant Rushton. The second was a different story as Rushton won it with reds to spare. Ian Archer won both against Mark press in a grueller. Archer dominated the first frame and made breaks of 50 and 28. The second frame saw Press hardly miss a ball but Archer dug in to win it. Arron Vaughan took the first frame with a 30 break against Joe Docksey. His opponent responded in the second to take it on the pink. Bobby Cliff won the first against Graham Bailey but the Belmont man knocked in a cracking pink to take the second and earn the victory for the visitors.
Ivanhoe B drew with Tutbury A. The Pickering boys Adam and Jason drew with Dan Mabbott and Chris Mabbott respectively, Chris knocking in a 41 in his match. Bren Mattley won both against an out of sorts Steve Hathaway and Dave Mabbott beat Dave Marriott to earn the draw.
Swadlinote Snooker Centre A lost 5-3 at home against Burton Cons B. Ryan Gibbs was the beneficiary of an absent player and Mike Buckland drew with Chris Dewey leaving the score at 3-1 at the turn. Steve Ayre and Dave Plunkett drew and Andy Goldingay made a 36 break as he drew with Jon Swift.
Swad Cons A won 6-2 at home against Belmont B. Mark Hadley was first on and he put the hosts up with a victory against Ian Gibson. Andy Grainger then knocked in a 48 to beat Zaheer Hussain. Mark Vaughan continued his good form by taking both against Paul Slater. Lee Wood potted well and knocked in a 31 to beat Brett Craddock.

Leaders Woodville C were without a fixture last week as they were due to play one of the sides that have dropped out.
Alrewas C made a slight inroad by beating Belmont D 5-3. Star man was Alan Wilson as he knocked a nice 33 in on his way to beating Simon Deakin.John Sharpe also won his match versus Ian Gibson. The resistance for Belmont was supplied by Andy Biggadike, who beat Will Sherratt. The match between Tom Holland and Gary Green was halved.
Tutbury C missed the chance to close the gap by being beaten at Swad Cons D. Only Paul Atterbury won for the Tutters whilst there were wins for Gaz Ward, who rolled in a nice 24, and Kieran Dadley for the Swad side whilst Bob Birch drew with Jeff Siddalls.
Ivanhoe D and Woodville B played out a 4-4 draw at Ashby. Brian Lowrie winning for Ivanhoe and Denis Moore for Woodville with the two other matches being drawn.
Burton Cons D drew for the fourth match running…this time against the Snookerettes of Spot On D. There were two wins on each side. Paul davies and Al Munnien for the Cons’ boys and Yvonne Spendlove and Clare Peaty for Spot On. Clare rolled in a lovely 32 along the way showing how far these ladies have come and you would win more frames than you would lose in the Premier Division doing that.
John Sharpe, Wayne Brewin, Mark Satchwell and Denis Moore are in the box seats for the end of season Ken Shipton Memorial tournament on the 23rd April. There have now been 32 breaks over 30 this season in the division with the top 15 all scored by Woodville C players-Wayne Brewin still leading the way with a 54.
