Swad Cons A and Rolleston A locked horns and could not be separated on the night as the match ended a draw. Bobby Cliff potted well to beat Mark Swift. Tony Rushton took the first frame against Mark Hadley with some nice potting but Mark potted the pressure balls in the second frame to take it. Paul Slater was in good form taking the first frame but Joe Docksey came back well to win the second frame with the help of a couple of snookers. Andy Grainger was in the mood on the night and won the first frame against Rich O’Dell without his opponent potting a ball. Grainger also comfortably won the second frame to complete the scoring.

Alrewas A won 5-3 at home against Tutbury A. Rob McMeecham was first up against Chris Mabbott. The talented left-hander won both frames for the visitors. Tom Smith levelled the match as he won both frames against Daniel Mabbott. The second half of the match saw Karl Hancox knock in a 37 break as he defeated Dave Mabbott. John Richardson and Dave Powell won a frame each to close out the match.

Ivanhoe A also won 5-3 at home against Belmont B. Andy Marriott knocked in a great 83 break as he won both frames against Leo Worsley. Zaheer Hussain beat Ant Moore on the other table in a scrappy encounter. Mick Kirk shared the frames with Brett Craddock who knocked in a 30 as he won his frame. Ian Rennocks earned the victory for the hosts as he won both frames against Mick Morris, which included a 48 in the first frame.

Burton Cons A won 6-2 against Spot On A. Graham Stevens was not his usual self on the night and Ade Harper took advantage by winning both frames with some good potting. John Shilton levelled the match as he knocked in a 40 in defeating Tom Elliott. Darren Coady was behind in both frames against Nigel Tomlinson but managed to win them both. Finally, Owen Jones knocked in a 54 in the first frame against Mark Stirling but had to win the second frame on a re-spotted black.

Ivanhoe B won 5-3 against Burton Cons B. Bren Mattley played some good stuff as he defeated Mike Buckland. Stuart Tagg also won 2-0 against Ryan Gibbs, which put the hosts in command. Daniel Blunn and Simon Smith both potted well to win a frame each. Finally, Jason Pickering found Jon Swift to be too good on the night as the visiting player won both frames to complete the scoring.

Swadlincote Snooker Centre A hosted Belmont A in yet another close match on the night. Steve Ayre played well to beat Ian Archer and on the other table, Chris Dewey did likewise as he beat Graham Bailey. Andy Goldingay lost both frames against Rich Goldby and John Davis drew with Arron Vaughan, who knocked in a 34.

The Spot On derby saw the B team play the C team. John Hardy won both frames with some good potting against Steve Lane. Loz Kennerson and Trevor Heath won a frame each. Steve Butterworth and Tony Clements could not be separated as they also won a frame each. Tim Hodgkinson earned the draw for the B team by winning both frames against Steve Gaunt to complete the scoring.
