Andy Grainger 3 – Trevor Heath 0
Tonight’s final of the Crown Windows Evershed Vase was played in a good spirit down at Burton Cons between Andy Grainger and Trevor Heath.
The first frame started off a bit nervy with both players having chances. Andy went in front with a nice 30 break but Trevor came back and it was anyone’s on the colours. Andy then potted a nice green, brown and blue to secure the frame.
In the second frame Andy made a nice 45 break to take control of the frame. Trevor made some nice pots but was unable to amass enough points to get himself back into the frame. Some good long potting from Andy then secured the frame and a 2-0 lead.
The third frame was a tight affair. Trevor took an early lead with some good single ball potting before Andy brought the scores level with the last five reds on. He then compiled a lovely 32 break mainly with the pink as the black was on the side cushion. This left Trevor requiring two snookers on the colours. He had some great efforts trying to snooker behind the pink, but the white just fell short on a couple of occasions, one of which let Andy in to clinch the frame and match 3-0
