2017-18: Nicholas Humphreys Presidents Grand Final

By Mark Vaughan

The line up was Ivanhoe A from the David Wain Premier Division, Spot On C from PJM Fascias Division 1 and Spot On E from Newton Fallowell Division 2.

First up Spot on E faced Ivanhoe A with Jordan Watts  playing Daniel Blunn, Daniel played steadily to claw back the 28 start and eventually run out as the clear winner.

Paul Bradford potted some great balls to beat the inform Ant Moore on the pink.

Young Kyle Cope then came up against a man on fire and did nothing wrong but a stunning 103 break from Andy Marriott gave Ivanhoe the edge.

Jared Cronje then played Ian Rennocks and it took a good pink to defeat the Spot On man to give Ivanhoe 3 valuable points.

In the battle of the Spot Ons, Jared Cronje defeated the evergreen Trevor Heath, John Hardy levelled the match against Kyle Cope but Jordan Watts found his feet to defeat Andy Jenkins despite Andy playing very well.

It was Tony Clements who grabbed a late win off Paul Bradford to keep the Spot On C team in the final.

The third match was also in full swing as Andy Marriott took another frame, this time from Spor On C’s Andy Jenkins. Trevor Heath then beat Ian Rennocks and John Hardy took Ant Moore’s scalp.

There was a short wait while Tony Clements finished winning his game against Jared Cronje with the Spot on C and Spot On E team unable to win this final if Ivanhoe took  the final frame. However,  if Spot on C took the last frame all 4 teams would have been on 4 points.

In the end though Daniel Blunn played to a high standard against Jordan Watts to see out the frame for the Ivanhoe A victory.
