Reports by Mick Buckland

David Wain Insurance Premier League

In the David Wain Insurance Premier Division last week, there were 5 matches and all went to the last frame. The eagerly awaited clash between Belmont A and Burton Cons A ended up all square at four apiece but not before The Servicemen had opened up a 4-0 lead at half time. John Chambers played some lovely snooker to get past John Shilton whilst Ian Archer ground out a win over Jon Swift. With backs to the wall Graham Stevens squeezed past Josh Gebbie needing to put pink and black in the second to do so. Mike Buckland overcame Arron Vaughan comfortably in the first but Arron was in front on the yellow in the second only for Mike to lay 2/3 good snookers resulting in the opportunity to clear which he duly did.
Burton Cons B had a tight 5-3 win over Alrewas A. Owen Jones brushed past an out of sorts Lee Louch. Matt Milnes and Karl Hancox shared their two frames whilst John Richardson played well to overturn a 37 point deficit on his way to defeating a previously unbeaten Simon Smith. Jon Fletcher, whilst not at his best, had enough to score his first win of the season by beating Colin Wood.
